Services — Hiring & Succession Planning

UK Talent Mapping
& Scans

Know every relevant name in your UK market before you hire. From rapid 2–10 working day talent scans to full UK market maps with competitor org structures and £ reward benchmarks — across London, the South East, the Midlands, the North, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Billed by project, owned by you forever.

Talent Scans

For when you don’t need a multi-week research process; you need clean data, fast.

Talent scans deliver a clean, sortable dataset of talent in the market. These projects have a two- to ten-day turnaround and are a quick, cost-effective solution for more immediate requirements, such as:

  • A senior leader resigns; a quick view of external succession options is required as you’re planning next actions.
  • Timelines are squeezed and last-minute support is required ahead of a critical update with stakeholders.
  • You have an opportunity to establish credibility with a senior business stakeholder and you need a straightforward view of the market to do it.
  • A hiring manager questions whether the brief is realistic — a scan settles it with evidence inside a week.

Talent Mapping

Talent mapping showcases the broadest possible range of talent for current or future hiring needs.

Using a range of research methods, we identify everyone who performs a particular role, or has a particular skill set, within a defined set of markets and competitor organisations. Each verified profile is layered with seniority, employer, tenure, location, reporting lines and — where scoped — reward benchmarks and diversity composition.

The result is a structured, evidence-based view of the entire talent landscape: who exists, where they sit, what they earn, and what it would take to move them. Leadership teams use Audentia maps to plan headcount growth, prepare new functions, benchmark competitors and open new locations — on evidence rather than instinct.

  • Named, verified profiles of every relevant individual in the defined market
  • Competitor organisation structure and reporting-line analysis
  • Salary and total reward data layered onto the map
  • Diversity composition analysis of the mapped population
  • Option to move directly into engagement, pipelining or full search
  • 100% data ownership — the map stays with you, forever

Benefits of talent mapping

Positive impact on ROI

The cost of acting without information can be high. Mapping is cost-effective, uncovers essential insight, and every additional hire from the map is free — the saving compounds.

Better strategic decisions

Real-time market visibility and benchmarking data let you make better-informed decisions, knowing you’re working with precise, verified data from a specialist research team.

Minimise your risk

Worried about succession gaps, or the cost of choosing the wrong location for a new office or facility? Mapping minimises these risks with data and clear recommendations.

Talent mapping keeps your business ahead of the market

If you have questions about where talent sits, how competitors are structured, or you need evidence to plan hiring, succession or a new location — this service is for you. Here are just some of the areas where we help:

Benchmarking competitors' talent — analytics dashboards and market data

Benchmarking competitors’ talent

We provide in-depth information across a range of areas, giving you a real-time view of the market:

  • Labour market insight and employment statistics
  • Competitor hiring activity and recent news
  • Organisation design, department size and reporting structures
  • Salary and role benchmarking

Particularly relevant if your business wants to increase candidate attraction or retention, understand options for restructuring, or needs actionable insight to make informed strategic changes.

Location insight — city skyline analysis

Location insight

Is your business considering relocating, opening a new office or facility, or expanding operations?

We research the availability of talent and analyse the feasibility of that location, so you understand the size of the talent pool, salary levels and benefits in the catchment area — letting you make location decisions on real-time market knowledge, minimising risk and ensuring you can meet your hiring needs.

Employer brand perception — team discussion

Employer brand perception

What do people think of you as an employer? If you’re struggling to hire or looking to expand, it’s valuable to understand how prospective candidates view your brand and those of your competitors.

Our insight helps you recognise the most important factors and sharpen employer brand messaging or strategy to help with future recruitment — understanding your Employee Value Proposition and how it compares to the competition is vital to talent attraction and retention.

Building stronger teams — collaboration

Succession & stronger teams

Strong candidate visibility is key to any successful business. Mapping gives every critical seat an externally validated succession bench — so a resignation becomes a managed transition, not a crisis.

Diversity and total reward benchmarking within the map helps ensure you attract the right talent from the broadest possible pool, and getting your D&I strategy right can significantly impact your organisation’s future.

Talent mapping in the United Kingdom

What UK talent mapping looks like when it is done properly

Our talent mapping practice is run from our London office at 20-22 Wenlock Road and covers every part of the British market: the London and South East technology and financial services corridor, the Thames Valley, the Cambridge–Oxford life sciences arc, the Midlands engineering and automotive belt, the North West and Yorkshire professional services hubs, Scotland’s energy and asset management sectors, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Every UK talent map is built from primary research rather than a database export. We profile who actually sits inside each competitor’s structure, what their real scope is, which office or hybrid pattern they work to, how long they have been in post, what notice they are on, and what it would take in base, bonus, car allowance, pension and long-term incentive — in pounds sterling — to move them. Every record is processed under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and handed to you in full when the project closes.

Benchmarks in £, not converted US ranges

Reward data is captured in pounds and set against British norms: base, bonus, car allowance, employer pension contribution, LTIP and the London weighting that quietly distorts any national average.

UK notice periods built into the plan

Senior British roles routinely carry three to six months’ notice. Every profile records notice and any restrictive covenants, so your hiring timetable reflects when a person can realistically start, not when they say yes.

UK GDPR handling as standard

Records are gathered on a documented legitimate-interest basis in line with ICO guidance, transferred to you with a processing note, and not retained, resold or recycled into anyone else’s project.

UK questions we are asked most

How much does talent mapping cost in the UK?

A UK talent map is quoted as a fixed project fee in pounds and agreed before any work starts. A focused scan of one function in a single region sits at the lower end; a full multi-region map with competitor org structures and reward benchmarking costs more because it takes more research hours. There is never a percentage of salary and never a placement fee.

Which UK regions do you map?

All of them. London and the South East, the Thames Valley, the East of England and the Cambridge–Oxford corridor, the South West, the Midlands, the North West, Yorkshire and the North East, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We also map the Republic of Ireland and mainland Europe where a UK brief crosses borders.

Is UK talent mapping compliant with GDPR?

Yes. We research publicly available professional information on a legitimate-interest basis, document that basis, and follow ICO guidance on business-to-business research. Deliverables are transferred to you with a processing note so your own records of processing activity stay accurate.

How long does a UK talent map take to deliver?

A talent scan is normally back with you in two to ten working days. A full UK market map with competitor structures, reward benchmarking and diversity analysis typically takes three to six weeks depending on the number of organisations in scope.
